The Basics
I have been working with children and families for over seven years in different capacities. I began my career in early childhood education, moved to Elementary education, and currently work as a social worker. Over the years, my work has been fueled by my passion and interest in the resiliency of children and families. As an educator, this resiliency pulled me to the field of mental health where I am able to guide and support it through establishing healthy coping mechanisms and communication with children and their families.
For this reason, I received my Masters of Social Work in 2022 from Rutgers School of Social Work. While I did graduate with a certification in Child and Adolescent Well-Being, I am passionate and able to work with individuals of all ages. Presently, I am being supervised toward independent licensure by Nichole C. Inya-Agha, LCSW.
How I Work
In my work with clients, I believe that the treatment process is a collaborative one between a therapist and client, but driven by the needs and dreams of the client. I begin by learning as much as possible about what has brought you to our office. By doing this, I can then identify which treatment modalities are best suited for an individual; this is an ongoing process throughout treatment.
I can offer individual and family psychotherapy that pulls from modalities of Play Therapy, Mindfulness, and TF-CBT. I have experience working with grief, oppositional defiance disorder, attention deficit disorder, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, and a variety of school based presenting problems.
A little more about me…
I am a proud central Jersey native and live locally with my partner, our two cats, and one dog. During the day, I work in public schools providing school-based counseling services and behavioral health consultations. I am a firm believer in the power of Mindfulness in both my professional and personal lives. For this reason on my free time, I enjoy cooking, camping, hiking, and yoga. All of these activities allow me to bask in the joy and beauty that is the present moment.
